"Bond of Past and Present" is a comic that was released on March 30, 2019 to promote the then-upcoming hero Esmeralda. The comic depicts revelations from the stars to Esmeralda about the life of the desert tyrant Khufra and her ancestor, who survived his genocide against the Tribe of Astrologers. He took custody of her ancestor, who would eventually seal him, unbeknownst to him. Khufra awoke from his slumber, and Esmeralda vowed to seal him once more.
