ECHO Esports or Echo is an Esports team based in the Philippines. They're the Philippine division of Aura Esports based in Indonesia.
History[]
Season 2[]
AURA PH back then is known as Digital Devils No Limit(DDNL) which consists of Sky, Kielvj, Chico, Vern and Rafflesia. They were later acquired by Bren Esports and rebranded into Bren NoLimit.
Season 3[]
Now known as Bren NoLimit, they managed to acquire Jaypee and E mem. Even though they're the sister team of Bren, they actually managed to beat Bren themselves. They managed to finish 5th-6th Place in the Playoffs.
Season 4[]
At this point, they acquired Renzio and Fuzaken while Chico and Vern left the team and rebranded to SunSparks but they're still the sister team of Bren. They're also the only team that can basically go toe-to-toe with the might of ONIC. They claimed their first championship after a long fight against ONIC 3-2 and became a full-fledged MPL-PH powerhouse.
M1 2019[]
They participated in M1 2019 along with ONIC, however, unlike ONIC, SunSparks reached the playoffs, sorted in Group C, they beat Malaysia's Todak, Turkey's EVIL Esports and Brazil's GeO Esports. Placed in the Lower Bracket, they eliminated Vietnam's VEC Fantasy Main, however, they fell short and got eliminated by Burmese Ghouls 2-1.
Season 5[]
SunSparks later traded with ONIC, swapping Fuzaken for Greed and also acquired Killuash, previously from ArkAngel, the champion of MPL-PH S3 after Eskii Flexx(Sky) left. Despite defeated by Bren, they managed to defeat ONIC, placing them in the 2nd place, after demoting ONIC in the Playoffs, they beated Bren 2-0. They were faced off by none other than their nemesis ONIC, in Game 3, they took advantage of the "Cyclone Eye Incident" where Wise accidentally stepped on a Cyclone Eye, which placed him near all of the SunSparks team, killing him. They claimed their second championship when Greed located Wise and killed him and later destroyed ONIC's base.
Season 6[]
AURA Esports from Indonesia acquired the whole roster and rebranded to AURA PH, thus they're not the sister team of Bren Esports anymore. Despite having a very good performance in the early and middle phases, their performance deteriorated in the last weeks of the Regular Season, defeated by Nexplay Predator Solid and ONIC PH themselves although AURA said they're facing lagging issues lately. Although in the Playoffs they're expected to have a better performance, they're still ultimately eliminated by ONIC PH 3-0, thus shattering AURA's reign. Later, Renzio and Kielvj left the team and was replaced by Hadess and Bennyqt.
Season 7[]
In Season 7, two new players and one new coach named Hadess, Bennyqt and Dale were signed by Aura. They managed to dominate their own group using their signature Diggie Feeding Strategy, which included M2 champions Bren Esports, rookie Work Auster Force, Onic PH and Cignal Ultra. In the playoffs, they won against Omega Esports in a close series but was relegated to the Lower Bracket by Blacklist International, who defeated them in a score of 1-3. Their final opponent was Execration, which contained two former Aura players, Kielvj and Renzio. Execration would later cleanly sweep Aura PH from the playoffs, eliminating them from the tournament.
Season 8[]
In Season 8, Aura ID allowed them to change their name although they're still under the same management. Their new name is ECHO and made some changes to their line-up. Greed left, Killuash took a break and Jaypee retired from the pro scene. The player roster expanded greatly, due to the new franchised league format. However, they only placed 5th in the Regular Season and was eliminated early in the Playoffs by Omega Esports in a score of 1-3.
Season 9[]
Echo was the earliest team to reveal their roster, 1 month and 28 days before Season 9 even started. The new roster formed a so-called "Superteam", which included M2 MVP KarlTzy, former TNC EXP laner 3MarTzy and former NXPE roamer Yawi.
The first half of the season went smoothly for ECHO, dominating most teams in the season, in this first half, only 2 teams were able to give Echo a hard time, TNC and Onic PH. TNC was only able to acquire one point before losing the series to Echo while Onic was the first team to fully defeat Echo.
Unfortunately for the team, problems started arising in the second half. Echo usually dominated the early and middle stages of the game but on the late game, they would fall behind in terms of objectives. A main factor to this is due to KarlTzy refusing to use the jungle emblem, as he preferred aggressive skirmishes over objective-taking. Echo would have a final standing of 3rd place, with an 8-6 W-L record, behind RSG PH and TNC Pro Team.
They were matched by TNC against Omega Esports, who almost missed the Playoffs but were reinvigorated after Pakbet made a bold statement that S9 was one of the team's most important seasons. Although many expected either a close series or a 3-1 score in favour of Echo, Omega made one of the largest upsets in MLBB history by cleanly sweeping a superteam, despite a change of tactics by Echo and thus, eliminating them from the tournament.
