Gold Laners are often associated with Marksmen.

This is the side lane that is far away from the location where the first Turtle spawns. Gold Laners are reletively weak in the early game, but can accumulate equipment items more quickly by killing the Siege Minions that offer extra gold, which can provide the team with a strong continous damage ability in the late game.

A Gold Laner is a hero who goes on Gold Lane to take advantage of 20% Gold bonus of the minion waves for the first 5 minutes of a game.

There are currently 21 heroes that are recommended to be a Gold Laner.

Meta Heroes[]

The following heroes are considered meta, with a substantial edge over enemy marksman:

Non-marksman Heroes[]

Some heroes who are not marksman can go Gold Lane as they are item dependent and has advantages over most marksmen:

Categories[]

Gold Laners are "unofficially" divided into 3 different categories:

  • Magic Gold: heroes who deal exclusively magic damage early and up to late game having greater advantages towards their opponents. Mages and Magic Damage speciality Marksmen are part of this category

Rotation Guide[]

  • As you are most squishy and lacks damage output, the gold laner should stay in lane and tries to hoard up gold as much as possible:
    • Secure last hit of minions by abilities
    • Kill gold crab if possible
    • Peel turret's golden shield if possible.
    • Slay nearby small jungle creep if no minions are nearby.
  • Avoid dying at all costs. If there is no enemy sight on map, try to hide in the bush between the first and second turret, as it will make most ganking attempts fail.
  • Consider link Magic Sword and  Rose Gold Meteor for better survival.
  • If the enemy team ganks you with 3-4 members the high possibility is that they will dive turret, give up the minion.
  • It is not recommended to purchase a decent boot, but a basic boot only. Some marksmen work fine with full attack items.

Before 2 minutes[]

  • Your wave clear speed is slow, so focus on minions first.
  • Keep in mind in 1:15-1:30, the enemy jungler finishes jungling, avoid disclosing your location.

2-5 minutes[]

  • Clearing minions in gold lane is still priority, you can rotate to mid lane to clear minions when both team contest the turtle, then quickly return to gold lane.
  • You can help your team if there is a fight near the Turtle pit, then quickly returns to lane, choose a way that goes through the least bushes.

5 minutes onward[]

Rotate to all other lanes to find minion waves to farm, or clear small jungle creep camps.
