Physical defense (Physical DEF, formerly known as Armor) is an attribute that reduces the incoming amount of physical damage received. All units have base physical defense and 0 extra defense, and it can be increased through emblems, equipment, and hero abilities.

Total physical defense[]
In reducing the physical defense, the fixed-value defense reduction comes first, then the percentage DEF reduction and physical penetration, and finally the fixed-value penetration. This decrease can be defined as:
Physical damage multiplier[]

Stacking physical defense have diminishing returns, for example, that is 120 physical DEF reduces physical damage taken from 100% to 50% while having a 240 physical DEF reduces to 33% physical damage only. However, note that in short, the more the physical defense, the lesser its damage reduction receives. The equation showing the effect of physical DEF on physical damage is shown below:
Positive defense[]
If physical defense = 100:
With 100 physical defense, the hero will take 54.55% of physical damage.
Negative defense[]
If Physical Defense = -36:
With -36 physical defense, the hero will take 142.85% of physical damage or 42.85% extra physical damage.
