Project NEXT is a project launched by the MLBB Team to improve on old heroes that are frequently overlooked in the current meta. These chosen heroes will get a new splash, display animation, and/or battle effects. Not just for hero, but also for battle optimization. Project NEXT was first announced on July 5, 2020, and it was applied on September 22, 2020. The second phase of Projext NEXT begins on June 15, 2021, while the third phase begins on September 21, 2021.
Project NEXT: Phase 1[]

Phase 1 of Project NEXT was released on September 22, 2020. The this batch includes the primarily revamped heroes: 
Eudora, 
Saber, 
Alucard, 
Miya, 
Layla, and 
Zilong. And includes other heroes who were optimized.

Project NEXT: Phase 2[]

Phase 2 of Project NEXT was released on June 15, 2021. The following heroes were revamped: 
Karina, 
Minotaur, 
Alpha and 
Sun. No new hero(es) was added on that month, breaking the usual monthly release.
Meanwhile, the following S.A.B.E.R. Squad heroes got a new Model and Entrance Animation: 
Cyclops, Layla, 
Johnson, 
Rafaela and Saber.
